Have you ever been so sad that you felt like you could just cry forever?
I'm not just talking about the pretty subdued kind of crying. I'm talking about the loud-face-crunched-up-and-buried-in-your-pillow kind of crying. It's made of utter sadness. There's nothing like it. It's the kind of crying that you wouldn't know what to do if someone, even your closest friend, came to you like that - sobbing like there's no tomorrow, like all the water in her body is flowing out into tears, like breathing is the most difficult thing to do in the world... just crying out of pure and utter sadness.
The beautiful thing about human beings is that we're gifted with these amazing coping mechanisms. Tears to cleanse the soul. Words to express emotions...
A few minutes ago, there was a girl with her face buried in her pillow, crying as if she could do so forever. Now she's typing away, feeling slightly better, distracted, coping... maybe her soul was cleansed, even just a bit.
